Interview with Creative Artist Asma Javeri & her Showcase

While exploring the design world The Art Times found really creative art work of Asma Javeri on Behance. We got a chance to do an interview and talk about her creativity. Below are some pieces of design that was collected from her gallery.

Tie me down before the light.

When did you start designing
I have always doodled; have random sketch books from as early as I was ten.. But designing properly started when I began studying at Indus Valley School in 2009

Skills (softwares)
Art Rage, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop

Your Interests
Music, Painting, Photography, Travel, anything that I don’t know about; the unknown scares me at the same time I like going close to it.

Your Favorite work
I love doodling; Just bringing out random thoughts on a piece of paper some of which I later work upon. I also love jogging and sleeping. I think sleeping is a lot of work. I wish I was paid to sleep.

Bit of daily routine
I usually kick off with working out in the morning; a bit of floor exercises to just get myself ‘up’ properly. On a normal day I then head out to college and deal with the art drama there. After escaping from school I make sure I manage to get my afternoon nap (I wonder how that will work when ‘work’ life starts). After nap time I usually go for a jog; and then its either hanging out with the friends or its finishing up on all pending assignments… Also there’s a lot of munching in between all of that.

From every fiber within.
A project to promote yourself as an illustrator.

Little about your creativity process
To me ideas have always come very randomly; its usually while I’m jogging, pooping or about to fall asleep. Work wise it always starts with a little sketch or doodle, just visualizing what all is going crazy in the mind and bringing some order to it. Sometimes those sketches are perfected and then scanned; other times I start directly digital. I mean it really depends on what I see the end result to be. I always hope that I can create something tangible out of those random ideas in my head. Also I feel a lot of my work is very personal and it has to do with me, what I was, or see myself as.. also a lot of it comes out from my daily experiences.

Few lessons you want to share
Never ever ever ever underestimate yourself. I mean you have no idea what all you’re capable of doing; and you never will unless you don’t give it that first try. Also don’t ever stop wanting more and dreaming big. The day you stop dreaming is the day you kill yourself and everything you can do. There’s a fine line between overconfidence and believing in yourself; don’t ever cross that.

Final Words/Message
Don’t ever be hesitant to do anything you love. failure is way better than the bitter taste of regret.
